Overview

UniPilot is a study planning app for university students. It helps you organize courses, timetable events, deadlines, exams, study sessions, grades, and reminders.

UniPilot is designed to keep your study data on your device. The developer does not sell your data, does not use advertising tracking, and does not collect analytics about how you use the app.

Information Stored on Your Device

UniPilot may store information you choose to enter or import, including course names, course codes, ECTS, academic year, language, exam composition, grades, deadlines, exams, timetable events, study timer sessions, notification preferences, and profile settings.

This information is stored locally on your device using Apple system storage. It is used to show your study plan, calculate study summaries, schedule reminders, and keep the app working between launches.

iCloud Backup

When you sign in with Apple and iCloud is available, UniPilot backs up your study plan to the app's private CloudKit database in your iCloud account. This helps restore your courses, deadlines, timetable imports, grades, and study sessions after reinstalling the app or using another device.

UniPilot does not operate its own account server for this backup. iCloud availability, storage, and account access are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Timetable and Course Links

If you import a timetable link, UniPilot uses that link to fetch timetable information from the timetable provider. For University of Amsterdam students, this may include requesting data from Rooster.

If you import a course link, UniPilot uses the link you provide to fetch course information from the course catalogue provider, such as the University of Amsterdam Studiegids.

These requests are made only to load the timetable or course information you asked UniPilot to import. UniPilot does not operate its own server for this data.

When AI course recognition is available, UniPilot first tries Apple Intelligence on device. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable or cannot recognize the course, UniPilot may send imported course text to OpenAI to extract course fields.

Notifications and Live Activities

UniPilot can ask for permission to send local notifications for upcoming deadlines, exams, and tutorial classes. You can turn these reminders on or off in the app and manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

When you start a study timer, UniPilot may show the active session through Apple Live Activities, the Dynamic Island, and the Lock Screen, depending on your device and system settings.

Subscriptions

UniPilot Plus is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks Today for classes, tasks, and study time at a glance; Timer for focused study sessions by course; Schedule for lectures, tutorials, and study blocks; Courses for course details, ECTS, and GPA; and Deadline for exams and assignments.

Subscriptions, introductory offers, renewals, billing, cancellation, and refunds are processed by Apple through the App Store. UniPilot uses StoreKit transaction status to unlock app access, check whether a subscription is active, and restore subscriptions.

Offer eligibility and final pricing are determined by the App Store. The app may show a fallback display price, but the App Store purchase sheet is the source of truth before you confirm a purchase.

Maps

When you open a map from an event detail screen, UniPilot passes the event location or address to Apple Maps or Google Maps. Your use of those map services is governed by the privacy policies of those providers.

Data Collection and Tracking

UniPilot does not collect personal data for the developer, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

Cloud backup uses Apple's CloudKit service so your app data can be stored in your private iCloud database. If future versions add developer-operated servers, analytics, or other online features, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before those features are released.

Your Choices

You can edit or delete courses, deadlines, grades, timetable imports, and study sessions inside UniPilot. If you use the account option, you can delete your UniPilot account from Profile Settings. Account deletion removes your profile settings and locally stored UniPilot study data from this device and requests deletion of UniPilot's private CloudKit backup for that Apple account.

You can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Children

UniPilot is intended for university students and is not directed to children under 13.
